Get on Board: Public Transport Made Easy
The ‘Get On Board’ stage 2 was a pilot project funded by the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) with the aim of making it easier to access information and use public transport services in the City of Playford.
One of the major points introduced as part of the project was the Travel Companion Service.
GET ON BOARD TRAVEL COMPANION SERVICE
Aimed at new public transport users or people who felt less confident in using public transport in the City of Playford, our volunteer Travel Companion service was a free service designed to accompany commuters on one or several journeys and explain to them how to use public transport.
We believe, once you are familiar and confident with the public transport system, you can travel just about anywhere in metropolitan Adelaide. Our volunteer based Travel Companion services made it easier by providing:
Personalised Travel Companion services from your nearest bus or train station.
Step by step training and education on how use public transport including how to install and plan your journey using metroMATE
