  • LGBTI + Online Book Club

    Hi everyone,

    Below are the instructions for today’s online book group, if you’d like to join. Everyone is welcome.

    We are using ‘Zoom’ for our catch-up today at 1:00 pm. If you’ve used Zoom before, just click/press this link to join: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/155161121

    If you haven’t used Zoom before, please read through the instructions below in advance, as you may have to install the Zoom app if you’re using a tablet. I’ve tried to make the instructions as step-by-step as possible, but you may run into issues. If so, please give me a call (0436021896) and I will talk you through it.

    If you are using a tablet or your phone, and you already have the ‘zoom’ app:
    1. Open the app, click the blue button that says ‘join a meeting’ and enter the following number in the box that says ‘meeting ID’: 155161121.
    2. Write your name in the box below, and click ‘join’ (make sure your audio and video is turned on)
    3. Select ‘gallery view’ to be able to see everyone at the same time
    If you are using a tablet or your phone, and you DON’T already have the ‘zoom’ app:
    1. Download the ZOOM Cloud Meetings app from the app store that you use (e.g. app store, or google play store). It is FREE.
    2. Once you have installed that app (allow access to microphone, camera etc), open the app, and click ‘Join a meeting’.
    3. You will see a box with ‘Join a meeting’ at the top, and a box below that says ‘meeting ID’. Click on that box, and enter the following number 155161121. In the box below write the name that you want people to see when you join. Then click ‘Join’.
    4. You will be shown a box that says ‘Zoom would like to access the camera’. Click ‘ok’. Then click ‘join with video’ (or ‘join without video’ if you’d rather. Click ‘ok’ again, and then ‘allow’, and then ‘call using internet audio’
    5. You can press on the screen and change your options (e.g. turn your camera off, or mute yourself if you’re not talking for a while, or ‘leave the meeting’). You can also select ‘gallery view’ (a round white circle on the left of your screen’ to see everyone at the same time)
    If you are using a computer:
    1. Copy and paste this link (https://zoom.us/) into your browser (google or internet explorer or whichever one you use)
    2. At the top right of your screen, in blue, you’ll see ‘Join a meeting’. Click this. Type 155161121 into the meeting ID box. Click join.

    It is important to have freedom of choice and support to live independently at home as you get older. In this seminar we discuss the different support service available to help you with your daily tasks, or specific needs.

    Key learning outcomes:

    • Understanding what services are available under the Commonwealth Home Support Program
    • Understanding what the eligibility criteria is for each level of service and the process to access the services
    • Learning about other Commonwealth Government funded services that may be appropriate for you
